Releases, events and the task board

A release or an event gets its own task list, so you can see what is done and what comes next. The board is the Releases tab.

Add a release or an event#

  1. On the Releases tab, press Releases & Events →, then + New Release / Event.
  2. Type the name and choose the Type: Single, EP, Album or Event.
  3. Pick the date if you know it. It has to be in the future.
  4. Add a cover (or an event image). An EP or album can also have a tracklist.
  5. Press Create Release or Create Event.

You go straight to the board, where a panel called Set up tasks for your release offers the suggested tasks.

A release you add in the setup questions gets the whole task list at once. See Getting started.

The suggested tasks#

These are the steps most releases need, with a due date counted back from your release date. Tick the ones you want and untick the rest, then press Add N tasks to board, where N is how many you ticked. Skip for now leaves it for later: the board then offers Browse suggested tasks.

No task is due before tomorrow. A release that is closer than the usual lead time still gets every task, each due as soon as it can be. The same list is offered for an event, so untick the steps that do not fit.

Working the board, and deadlines#

The board has three columns: To Do, In Progress and Done. Each task is a card.

  • Press Started to move a card to In Progress, Done to finish it and ← Back to take it back a column.
  • On a computer you can also drag a card to another column. On a phone the columns are tabs: tap one, or swipe sideways.
  • Press the Deadline on a card to pick another date. A deadline turns red once it has passed and the task is not done.
  • Press the small (i) on a card for a short note on what the task means and how to do it.
  • Delete removes a card. Cmd+Z brings it back.

Some tasks follow each other. Move a later one forward and the earlier ones in its row move up with it, if they are behind: cover art planned and approved, final mix, final master and upload, and the Plan, Film and Edit tasks of one post. A task that is already further along stays where it is.

Your own tasks, and the filters#

  • + Add Task: type a name, pick the release and a deadline in the future, and press Add.
  • Filter by Release shows the tasks of one release, or of several side by side.
  • Show Social Media Posts adds the Plan, Film and Edit tasks of your calendar posts. Posts tied to a release show under it.
  • + Add post to calendar (with one release chosen) opens the Calendar to add a post for it.

Change, finish or archive a release#

  • Edit on the Releases & Events page changes the name, type, date and cover.
  • When you move the date, the suggested tasks move with it. Tasks you added yourself keep their dates.
  • Mark Released moves an upcoming release to released.
  • Archive hides a release. It is listed under Archived, and Restore brings it back.
  • Each card shows a bar and a count of its finished tasks.

An event also offers Create ticket page, which starts a ticket page for it. Once it has one, the card says Manage tickets. See Running a show.
