Before you start#
- Connect your domain, so the email comes from your name. See Your own domain, step by step.
- Only subscribed fans get a campaign. See Email, consent and deliverability.
- New to mailing? The Analytics tab offers a two-step Set up mailing guide: write your first email, then connect your domain.
Write it#
- Press + New campaign. A new draft opens straight away.
- On the Details tab, fill in the Subject, the Preheader (the preview line shown after the subject), From name, From email, Reply-to and the Footer address, which is required.
- Under Audience, choose who gets it: lists to include or exclude, tags, and filters. It shows about how many people that is.
- On the Content tab, add blocks with + Text, + Image, + Button, + YouTube and + Divider. Use the arrows to reorder them and the ✕ to remove one.
- On the Design tab, set the font, the colours, the buttons and their corners. It applies to the whole email. Reset to defaults puts it all back.
- The Campaign title is only for you. Recipients never see it.
- A YouTube block shows a clickable picture, because a video cannot play inside an email.
- A preview on the right shows the email as you build it.
Check it#
The Deliverability check beside the editor says Ready to send or Fix blockers, with a score and a list of what it found. A blocker stops the send. A warning only tells you that spam filters may not like something. The full list is in Email, consent and deliverability.
Test it, then send it#
- Under Send a test, type your own address and press Send test. The subject starts with [TEST].
- Happy with it? Press Send now and confirm. For 3 seconds a box in the corner has an Undo button. After that the email is on its way.
- Or press Schedule…, pick a date and an hour in your time zone, and press Confirm schedule. The email goes out sometime within that hour. Press Cancel schedule before then to stop it.
A sent campaign can no longer be edited. You can still rename its title. You can send 3 campaigns a day, and the count starts again at midnight UTC.
Two versions of one email#
Under Versions on the Details tab, choose Split by to send different versions to different people.
| Split by | Who gets which |
|---|---|
| Language, Country or Tag | You pick which values each version is for. Everyone else gets the version you set as the fallback. |
| Random (A/B test) | You set the share of the audience for each version, and we split them at random. |
Each version has its own subject, preheader, content and design. Everything else is shared. The Analytics tab shows the results of each version. A split needs at least two versions. To stop splitting, set Split by back to Nothing.
After it is sent#
- The campaign list shows the Open and Click rate next to every sent campaign.
- The Analytics tab shows the whole path: sent, delivered, opened, clicked, visited your site and purchased. It also lists the top links and recent activity.
- The ··· menu on a campaign has Edit, Duplicate and Delete. Delete asks first and cannot be undone.
