Your own domain, step by step
Updated October 2026
A domain you already own lets your emails and pages carry your name. You buy a domain from a registrar such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, IONOS or Strato. We cannot buy it for you.
Two different uses
| Use | What you can type | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Email (tickets, shop receipts and campaigns) | Your main domain or a subdomain | yourband.com or mail.yourband.com |
| Pages (tickets, shop, links page) | A subdomain only | tickets.yourband.com, shop.yourband.com |
Email is set up once for the whole account. Tickets, shop and campaigns all share it, so after the first time a page only needs one extra record. A subdomain for email keeps your campaigns apart from your everyday email.
Pages need a subdomain because the main domain would replace your own website.
The steps
- Type your domain in the right panel. Email: Mailing, Settings. Tickets: an event, Advanced, Custom ticket domain. Shop: Webstore, Shop page, Your own shop domain.
- Press Add domain. The panel shows one or more DNS records: a Type, a Name and a Value.
- Log in at your registrar and open the DNS settings for your domain.
- Add each record as a new entry. Leave your existing records alone.
- Copy the Name exactly as shown. Most registrars add your domain to the end for you, so type only the part in front, such as
tickets. - Back in the dashboard, press Re-check (or Check status). It turns green when the records are found. This usually takes 5 to 30 minutes, sometimes longer.
Endings made of two parts, such as .co.uk or .com.au, work too.
If it will not connect
| What you see | What is going on |
|---|---|
| It says to use a subdomain | You typed your main domain for a page. Put a name in front, such as tickets.yourband.com. |
| It says Verifying for a long time | A record is missing, or its Name is wrong. Check each one. Wait an hour, then press Re-check. |
The Name looks doubled, like tickets.yourband.com.yourband.com | Your registrar added the domain for you. Type only the part in front. |
| The panel asks for an A record you did not expect | The domain you saved is a main domain. Press Remove, then add a subdomain. |
Removing your email domain stops tickets, shop receipts and campaigns from sending from your name. The dashboard warns you before it does that.
