Sell Merch and Tickets as an Independent Artist
Updated October 2026 · Written by Las Aguas Productions
With Las Aguas Indie you can sell merch from your own shop page and tickets from your own event pages, without a website of your own and without anyone in the middle of your money. This guide covers everything: what to set up, how your shop and ticket pages work, and what happens when someone buys.
1. What you can sell, and where
Merch sells from your shop page: shirts, vinyl, cassettes, posters, bundles, anything you can post. It lives at lasaguasproductions.com/shop/your-name, and you can also put it on your own subdomain, such as shop.yourband.com.
Tickets sell from an event page for each show, with early bird prices, group tickets, add-ons and check-in at the door. Your event pages can live on your own subdomain too, such as tickets.yourband.com.
Both are run from your Las Aguas Indie dashboard: Utilities, Webstore for the shop and Utilities, Events & Tickets for shows. They share one setup, so once you can sell one, you are most of the way to selling the other.
2. Before you sell
You are the seller of everything you sell here, so your payments, your emails and your details are your own. Before anything can go on sale, set up these:
Your own Stripe account
Buyers pay straight into your Stripe account: the money never passes through Las Aguas. Connect it once, from the Webstore or the Events page, and it covers both your shop and your tickets. Pick the country your business is based in (Stripe fixes it when the account is created), then finish Stripe's own setup. Only the account owner can connect or disconnect Stripe.
Your sending domain
Receipts and tickets are emailed from your own address, such as orders@mail.yourband.com for the shop and tickets@mail.yourband.com for tickets, so buyers see your name and their replies reach you. Add a subdomain you own, put the DNS records it shows at your domain registrar, and click Re-check. Your mailing campaigns use the same domain.
Seller details (shop)
Your legal name, postal address and contact email, plus your VAT ID if you have one. They appear on your shop page and on every receipt, so buyers know who they are buying from. A business or c/o address works if you would rather not show your home address.
Seller terms
When you connect Stripe you confirm that you are the seller: refunds, returns and chargebacks are yours to handle, tax on your sales is yours, and Las Aguas can pause sales if a page looks misleading or buyers complain. If you connected for tickets before the shop existed, the shop asks you to confirm its own version once, when you first publish.
3. Your shop
Products
- ✓Give each product a name, a price, a description and up to 6 photos.
- ✓Add options for sizes, colours or editions. Each option can have its own price, such as a signed vinyl next to the plain one.
- ✓Set stock per option, or for the whole product. Leave it empty for unlimited. Stock is held while someone is paying, so you can't oversell.
- ✓Hide a product from the shop at any time without deleting it.
Shipping
The simple way: give each product a flat shipping price per item. The flexible way: add named destinations in Settings (for example Germany, EU, Worldwide, Local pickup) and price each one per product; buyers then pick one in their cart. A destination priced at 0 is free, which suits local pickup.
Your shop page
Under Shop page you choose a look (Club, Playful or Corporate, the same looks as ticket pages), the shop name, a short intro and the address of your page. The live preview shows exactly what buyers will see. You can also add your own subdomain there; the page explains the one DNS record to create.
Publishing
Hit Publish once your setup is done. If something is still missing, the Webstore page shows you what. You can take the shop back to draft at any time.
4. Orders, receipts and returns
- ✓Buyers check out on Stripe's secure page, which collects their email and, for anything that ships, their address.
- ✓They get a receipt from your own address with their order code, what they bought, where it ships, your seller details and their right of withdrawal.
- ✓You get an email for every new order. Choose which of your account's logins get them in Settings.
- ✓Every order is in the Orders tab. Mark it as shipped once it's on its way.
- ✓Every buyer appears in your customer list under Mailing, and those who tick the box at checkout are subscribed to your emails.
Refunds are made from your own Stripe dashboard. Buyers in the EU can usually withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving it, and their receipt explains how; there are exceptions, such as sealed records and cassettes once opened. 5. Selling tickets
- ✓Build an event page with the date, venue, times, line-up and a description, in the same three looks as the shop.
- ✓Set a regular price, an early bird price that ends on a date or after a number sold, a door price, and an overall capacity.
- ✓Add offers: group tickets for 3, a ticket with a drink, VIP, merch at checkout, or a paid song request.
- ✓Fans can see prices in EUR, USD, GBP or COP; they are always charged in euros.
- ✓Buyers get their ticket by email from your own address, with a QR code and a PDF.
- ✓At the door, scan tickets from the Orders tab, or give door staff a door key: a link that works on their phone for that show only, with no account needed.
Event pages come down by themselves 6 weeks after the show. Planning a show in Releases & Events? It offers to create the ticket page for you.
6. Pauses, plans and help
Selling needs an active Las Aguas Indie plan. If you cancel, your shop and tickets keep selling until the end of the period you paid for, then pause until you resubscribe.
Las Aguas can pause an artist's sales, for example if a page looks misleading or buyers complain. If that happens, your dashboard says so and we'll be in touch. Your pages and orders stay as they are.
Disconnecting Stripe takes your shop and tickets off sale straight away, until you connect again. Questions about the dashboard? Use Report a Bug in your dashboard, or get in touch.
7. FAQ
Does Las Aguas take a cut of my sales?
No. Buyers pay you directly through your own Stripe account, and Las Aguas takes no fee on your merch or ticket sales. You only pay Stripe's own processing fees, which Stripe takes from each payment.
When do I get paid?
Stripe pays the money out to your bank account on your own Stripe payout schedule. Las Aguas never holds your money, so there is nothing to wait for on our side.
Who is the seller, me or Las Aguas?
You are. Las Aguas provides the pages, the emails and the tools, but every sale is made by you, on your own Stripe account. Your shop page and every receipt say so and show your seller details.
Can buyers pay with PayPal?
Not at the moment. Buyers pay by card through Stripe's secure checkout. Everything is charged in euros; if your Stripe account pays out in another currency, Stripe converts it for you.
Which countries can I ship to?
Buyers can enter a delivery address in much of Europe, plus the UK, the US and Canada. Your shop page lists the exact countries. You choose what shipping costs, per product or per destination.
Who handles returns and refunds?
You do. Buyers in the EU can withdraw from most purchases within 14 days, and every receipt explains how. You refund from your own Stripe dashboard.
Do I need my own website?
No. Your shop and your ticket pages are hosted for you. If you have a domain, you can put them on your own subdomain, such as shop.yourband.com or tickets.yourband.com.
What about VAT?
Tax on your sales is yours to handle. Your prices are charged exactly as you set them, so if you charge VAT, include it in your prices, and add your VAT ID to your seller details.
